Calculate the fingerprint

Select a file and choose NativeActions → More tools → Copy checksum. Wait for the file to be read, then paste the SHA-256 value where you are comparing it.

Compare the bytes

Matching SHA-256 values are a strong practical check of identical file bytes. Renamed files can still match; changing the contents changes the fingerprint.

A hash is not a safety verdict

A checksum does not say whether a file is safe or genuine. For a download, compare against a value obtained from a trusted source, not just a value packaged with an untrusted file.
