How updates finish
From version 0.11.2, NativeActions downloads and verifies an update, prepares it without closing anything, and then restarts by itself as soon as no file operation is running. The badge shows Updating, Update ready and Restarting while this happens.
Messages you may see
- “Restarts after your file work”: a conversion or other operation is still running. The update waits and restarts when it is done.
- “The update could not finish. Your current installation is kept.”: the download or verification did not complete. It is tried again later, or choose Download update on the Updates screen.
- “NativeActions couldn’t restart by itself”: close NativeActions and open it again. Windows completes the update when no NativeActions window or operation is running.
Your files are safe
An update never changes your documents or results. Every downloaded package is checked against a signed size and fingerprint before Windows installs it, and a failed update keeps the version you already have.
