Find the moment
- Select a video and open NativeActions → Extract → Save frame.
- Move along the timeline to preview the scene. On a fast enough computer, the preview follows while you drag.
- Slow down the preview or use frame-by-frame stepping to find the exact moment.
- Save the frame. It is exported at the source resolution as PNG.
Why preview speed can vary
Large video files and demanding codecs take longer to decode. The preview can update less frequently while seeking on a slower computer. Give it a moment to display the selected frame before saving.
Need more than one frame?
Use Extract frames to choose a time range and interval for a sequence of PNG images. For a single representative image, use the thumbnail action and its timeline.
