Why Windows may warn

The current public preview is signed with a development identity rather than a commercial code-signing certificate. Windows does not recognise that publisher yet, so SmartScreen may show “Windows protected your PC”, and setup asks you to approve the development certificate.

These warnings are about the publisher’s reputation, not about your files. Still, only continue with an installer you downloaded yourself from nativeactions.com.

If you downloaded it from our website

  1. Check that the file came from the Download page on nativeactions.com and that its name starts with NativeActions and ends with Setup.exe.
  2. If SmartScreen appears, choose More info and then Run anyway.
  3. On the “Allow this test build” screen, choose Allow & install and approve the Windows prompt. This adds the development signing certificate so Windows can install the app.

Related setup messages

“Use the development approval step, or install a release signed by a trusted publisher” means the approval step was skipped or declined. Run setup again and approve it.

“Use an installer with a current signing certificate” means the installer is outdated. Download the current version from the Download page.
