Why size varies
A long or highly detailed moving scene contains more information than a short static clip. A fixed target may not be reachable while preserving acceptable quality and the same dimensions.
Make a controlled export
Choose a downloaded video, then a gentle Compress option or realistic size target. Inspect motion, details and sound in the new copy before sharing it.
Allow time to encode
Creating a smaller file can take substantial processing. Keep the source available and avoid several heavy encodes on a slow computer. Optimize can change format and dimensions; Compress is for retaining the source format.
