What the messages mean
- “The archive is damaged”: the ZIP is incomplete or corrupt. Download or copy it again and check that the transfer finished.
- “The archive contains unsafe paths or special files”: some entries would be written outside the destination folder or are links. NativeActions refuses these to protect your files.
- “The archive exceeds the safe extraction limit”: it would unpack to an extremely large size or number of files, which can indicate a malicious archive.
Password-protected archives
NativeActions does not ask for ZIP passwords. Extract a password-protected ZIP with the tool that created it or with File Explorer, then use NativeActions on the extracted files.
Where extracted files go
Extract creates a new folder next to the archive, while Extract here places the files beside it. Existing files are never overwritten; new names receive a number such as (1).
